The World:

Welcome to DodeKahedron, a world of Dark Fantasy. In this world scarred by wars, you will encounter characters from many races including Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, Demons, Dragons, Minotaurs and many other exotic races. As "Dark Fantasy" is a genre not precisely defined, here is what you can expect from DragonWatch Archives: Unlike in Heroic Fantasy where the goodies nearly always beat the baddies, you can expect heroes to fail sometimes but not as often as in Dark Fantasy classic style. You can also expect heroes to have some real dark sides and villains to have some good sides.

DodeKahedron is a singular world. On the surface, it appears to be like many other fantasy worlds, with various climates: cold on poles, warm and humid around the equator, and temperate between the two. However the surface hides a secret: There are twelve small planes called "underworlds", each one located under a specific part of DodeKahedron's surface. There are linked together in a way to form a real dodecahedron figure. And the only existing passages from the underworlds to the surface are where three underworlds interconnect (basically the vertices of the dodecahedron). This means there are twenty passages, no more, no less. As all this has unlikely been created by natural evolution, many scholars of DodeKahedron think that this world have been created by one (or several) greater entity(ies). But for which reason or purpose, none has a clue.

Furthermore, in ancient times, all passage between underworlds and the surface have been sealed. The reason might have been known at some point, but it has been lost across the centuries. Maybe archeology will enable people of the surface to rediscover the truth at some point. As millennia passed, several passages have been destroyed or have collapsed for various reasons (wars, natural disasters, etc), destroying in the process the seal that has been put in place. This basically means that if a destroyed passage come to be rebuilt, it would be possible to get access to at least three underworlds again. But this is theory and only knowledge shared by a few scholars in all DodeKahedron. Those knowledge keepers fear that if such thing came to public, greed will take control over reason to the masses, to try to reopen the passages: underworlds are rumored to contain precious resources beyond imagination. But it's also rumored that they contain unfathomable dangers.
